at The TAUNY Center

Visit The TAUNY Center for the opening of the Akhwatsi:re ?My Family? Exhibition! The exhibit curated by Sharon H J Cheng will be open from May 4th - June 22nd, 2024.

Akhwatsi:re (My Family) is a visual representation of the love and gratitude artist, Marlana Thompson Baker has for her family. Reflections portray how she respects her family for everything they have taught her including important artist skills, allowing Marlana to carry on her mohawk traditional art and contemporary designs.

The exhibit's Opening Reception held on May 4th will feature singing & small bead work demonstration and Q&A with the audience from 11:00am - 12:00pm.

"My Family" Akwesasne Beadmaking & Regalia Workshops will be held on Saturday, May 18th & June 15th 11:00am - 1:00pm. Multi-generations are welcome! To register for the workshop, visit HERE.
