Food Sampling in Potsdam

The Potsdam Food Co-op's 3rd Thursday Sampling will be held on March 15th from 3:30 - 5:30pm. Featured will be new Co-op items that are also on sale this month in the store. Two varieties of Tamales will be available for sampling; Spicy Bean and also Chicken and Green Chili. They are both made with 100% organic and non-GMO corn masa, stuffed with flavor and hand wrapped in a natural corn husk. Spicy Bean is vegan and gluten-free containing a spicy combination of jalapenos, green chiles, ancho chile powder, and Great Northern beans. Chicken and Green Chili is also gluten-free with a perfect blend of green chiles, pinto beans, and shredded chicken. The chicken is raised without antibiotics, growth hormones, and with feed containing no animal byproducts. Also on Thursday’s table will be Spicy Ginger Teriyaki Sauce. Traditional flavors of teriyaki are heightened with bold fresh ginger in this classic sauce. It is made here in the US but contains fresh ginger from sustainable farms in Fiji, one of the world’s best ginger growing regions. Spicy Ginger Teriyaki Sauce is vegan, non-GMO, and contains no artificial ingredients. A versatile marinade and simmer sauce, it is perfect for stir fries, used as a glaze, or when grilling. Use it to infuse beef, chicken, pork, or fish to add an additional dimension that all will savor. Add it to veggies while cooking, or heat and reduce the sauce to intensify its flavor before pouring it over rice. The Potsdam Food Co-op & Carriage House Bakery and Deli is located at 24 Elm St. and is open daily from 8am to 7pm.
