Event Description:
PYRITES GUIDED PADDLING TOUR
Join SLC Center for History and Culture director Carlene Bermann and Nature Up North for a fun and leisurely paddle past some of Pyrites’ most historic sites, best viewed from the water. The tour will start and end at Taylor Park in Canton, where parking is available. Shuttles will then bring participants to the launch point at Miner St. Bridge. No previous canoeing or kayaking experience necessary.

Highlights Include:
  • Abutments of the DeGrasse River Paper Mill
  • Remains of logging booms
Additional Info:
  • Paddling tour is approximately 2 hours
  • Safety waivers must be signed if using rented equipment.
  • Program is scheduled pending good weather.
  • If conditions are rough, program will be rescheduled.
