Experience the creative possibilities of contemporary art quilting in Rebecca Muir MacKellar’s solo exhibition, starting Saturday, October 1st in the upper gallery at The TAUNY Center. Rebecca first found her love for quilting when she took a class with her mother in the 1970s, and she later dove into making art quilts that let her express her ideas and explore her creative inspirations. Her quilts range from playful, high-contrast geometric designs to images of trees and animals with organic lines and intriguing textures drawn from nature. “I’ll be inspired when I'm traveling in the woods, when we're doing syrup, I'll get an idea, and I'll work in my head for a while. Sometimes it takes years. And then other times I come up with an idea right away. Sometimes they have to be made, and I'm not going to be happy until they're made.” Come get inspired! Stay tuned for a hybrid Q&A and exhibit tour with the artist on Saturday, October 8th.
