Sandbar Classic Fishing Derby
The 2024 Sandbar Classic will be Sunday July 21 at Hosmer’s Marina. The annual tournament coincides with the start of Seaway Festival. Adult anglers can register for $20 and can fish for the following species – bass, walleye, northern pike and perch.
Registration will begin in the beginning of July. The first 75 anglers will receive a free t-shirt. Each angler can only submit one fish from each of the categories.
Each fish entered will be weighed and its length recorded. Winners will be determined by weight and if a tie, the length will determine the winner. You may bump your own fish and fish must be alive when weighed in.
There will be a youth division for bass, northern pike, walleye and perch. Registration for youth, 16 and under, is only $10. Youth can also choose to register for the adult division if they choose.
Fishing is on the St. Lawrence River only. All weighing of fish will take place at Hosmer’s Marina from 8am until 3pm. The tournament will end at 3 p.m. when the winners will be announced and the trophies and prizes will be awarded.
