PRESENTATION BY DR. AILEEN O'DONOGHUE

The St. Lawrence County Historical Association, will host a Brown Bag talk on Thursday, April 8 at noon discussing how to "Stay Engaged with the Post Ecliptic Sky". After the excitement of the total solar eclipse has passed, what events are going on to keep us engaged with the sky? Join DR. Aileen O'Donoghue as she talks about evening constellations, motions of the planets, and other events to watch for through the spring and summer along with interesting historical tidbits, including how a total solar eclipse influenced the creation of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Dr. Aileen A. O’Donoghue is a professor of physics at St. Lawrence University, teaching both physics and astronomy. She received her B.S. at Fort Lewis College and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Aileen’s research is primarily in radio astronomy and she currently studies galaxies using observations from the Arecibo and Green Bank radio telescopes.
