Name: SUNY Canton Softball Double Header / Community Event
Date: April 13, 2019
Time: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
SUNY Canton’s Softball Team will host Fostering Futures of St. Lawrence County, an affiliate of the Children’s Home of Jefferson County (CHJC) Foster Care Program, at a Double-Header Game / Community Event scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2019, at SUNY Canton’s Roo House Athletic Center, 34 Cornell Drive, Canton New York. The first game begins at 1:00 pm, and the second at 3:00 pm. The public is welcome to attend.

As April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, this event is designed to help raise public awareness about preventing child abuse, and enhancing the wellbeing of all children. Recognizing the signs and symptoms of child abuse, as well as reporting suspected child abuse, is essential to children’s health and safety.

Every child deserves a chance to succeed and grow up in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment, free from abuse and neglect. Fostering Futures addresses our community’s need in the area of finding and training new Foster Parents to help care for these children. Fostering Futures will be on hand at the event to provide information on the needs of foster children throughout the North Country, and the critical need to find and train new Foster Parents, especially for older children, teens and sibling groups. Anyone interested in learning more about Foster Parenting, Adoption, and the CHJC Foster Care Program is encouraged to attend.
