“Thanksgiving Sides” food sampling in Potsdam

The Potsdam Food Co-op's 3rd Thursday Sampling will be held on Thursday, November 15th from 3:30 - 5:30pm. Featured will be traditional “Thanksgiving Sides”, created in the Co-op’s own Carriage House Bakery and Deli. Four delicious favorites will be on the tasting table with pre-ordering available, ready to assist you with your Thanksgiving feast. On Thursday you will have the opportunity to sample Cheesy Mashed Potatoes; Stuffing (created from Carriage House Bakery bread); Maple Glazed Local Carrots (slow roasted with a glaze of local maple syrup); and Cranberry Relish (made with local cranberries from Brasher Falls). Ordering deadline for these four seasonal favorites is Saturday, 11/17, and pick up is the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, 11/21. Sign up in the store anytime before 11/17. A selection of pies can also be ordered. Rolls, both white and wheat, will be on the store shelves before Thanksgiving but can also be ordered if a larger quantity is needed. The Potsdam Food Co-op is located at 24 Elm St. It is open daily from 8am to 7pm. It is a member-owned cooperative grocery store (although membership is not required) where everyone is welcome to shop and anyone is welcome to join. Committed to the community and local sustainability, its emphasis is on providing natural and organic foods with the practice of buying from local and regional growers and producers. There are daily offerings from the Co-op’s natural foods deli, and artisan breads and sweets from its bakery, which features a wood-fired oven.
